Our School Ethos
St White’s School is a community school, in the heart of the Forest Of Dean, which offers a positive, safe learning environment for all its pupils. Everyone has equal and individual recognition and respect and there is a shared ethos which promotes care and respect for one another. The celebration of success and our commitment to the continuous improvement and fulfillment of potential in every pupil is central to our philosophy. We actively encourage ever-increasing independence and self-discipline among the pupils. Everyone within the school has a pivotal contribution to make and responsibility for the development of positive behaviour and attitudes.
St White's has served Cinderford for over 200 years and has grown from a small local town school to the largest primary school in the district. Any child from 4 to 11 years old, regardless of background or religion, can attend St White's. There are 11 classes, all named after local species of trees, all taught by qualified teachers and supported by teaching assistants.
The School has recently headed towards the greatest chapter in its history as all the pupils and staff moved into their new purpose built school next door to the old school site. The £6m project has seen a state of the art build tailored to the needs of all pupils both currently and in the future.
