WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR OF GOVERNORS
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to St White's Primary School on behalf of all the Governors.
As a Governing Body we are very proud of our children and the school community and we would like to thank all parents and staff for the support and encouragement they give. For children, this support nurtures key social and creative skills especially in the early years and helps build confidence and self-esteem. Parent interest and support in promoting the school is invaluable and ensures St White's has a strong partnership with the local community.
Our role as Governors is to make sure that objectives are met and that planning for the future is both aspirational and realistic. We are here not only to challenge but to support and encourage the Headteacher, Senior Leadership team and teaching staff as a ‘critical friend’ to maintain our commitment to achieving the highest standards of education.
The Full Governing Body meet every term and also work through two committees: Finance & Premises and Curriculum & Assessment, as well as carrying out individual roles to both challenge and support the school in achieving its ultimate aims. We also review policies which allow us to demonstrate that as a school we are forward thinking and committed to supporting your child’s achievements.
We are passionate about ensuring our children receive the best possible education available during the year ahead. So we as a Governing Body together with the SLT will reflect on the successful academic year of 2016/2017, taking the learning from what worked well and discuss and review plans for further improvements this year.
I feel privileged to be the Chair of Governors at St White's Primary School and to lead an experienced team who work hard to share their expertise to guide the school forward. We all try to attend school events, so look out for us and please come and have a chat. Otherwise, do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
or through our Clerk of Governors Mrs. Saddington in the school office.
